TITANflex was the only brand to win the 2012 iF Material Award for TITANflex 820578, a men’s frame in the striking and minimalist design typical of the brand. The iF material award was created as a platform for important new developments from the world of materials.

Lead by the renowned design professor Fritz Frenkler, iF’s international specialist jury selected the winners from submissions from 48 countries. The expert jury was particularly impressed by the sophisticated technologies used to operate the flexible memory metal of the TITANflex 820578.
A particular innovation is the temple design of this full rim frame with a directly soldered bridge: fine, straight perforations are combined with an attractive two-tone design. The perforations are milled, using an unusual processing method that is employed due to the special material properties of TITANflex and that is not used by any other model on the market.
For this award-winning model an optimum combination of different manufacturing processes was used. The result is a modern, sporty design that impress thanks to light feel and classy, metallic look.
